Solar Electric Motor Drive

If you are looking for a quality motor drive for your Aqua Cycle™ pontoon paddle boat, look no further!

American Pleasure Products has developed a motor drive unit for it's pontoon paddle boat to power the paddlewheel assembly presently used to propel the Aqua Cycle™.

All of the fifteen-inch diameter pontoon boats are available or can be retrofitted with the electric motor drive unit that provides quiet operation with zero maintenance. The electric motor drive serves as an excellent emergency backup for older folks or an efficient trolling motor for the fisherman. The electric motor drive has a clutch system incorporated into the chain drive to power the paddlewheel assembly. Should the paddlewheel become jammed there is a circuit breaker that will safely shut down the motor drive. Using the hand lever that mounts on the seat frame one may either allow the motor drive to power the paddle boat or assist the pedaling of the operator. The solar charger is provided as standard equipment and as a result the battery will need little or no maintenance during the course of the season. There is a key switch to prevent unwanted use of the boat with the motor.

Aqua Cycle™ Electric Motor Drive

A 90-amp Gel Cell battery powers the motor. This battery is sealed so no acid can spill or give off fumes. The battery is kept charged with a solar charger and under normal use, will never need charging.

The motor is turned on with a key, which can be removed to prevent unwanted use of the boat.

Once the motor is turned on, the drive is engaged by pressing the drive lever, located on the right armrest. Pressure must be maintained on the handle to keep the paddlewheel drive engaged. Minimum effort is required.

The Motor is sealed and the drive gears run in oil.

No maintenance is required.

The motor being powered by electricity is very quiet and environmentally friendly.
