Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I purchase an Aqua Cycle™ rather than other boats on the market?

The Aqua Cycle™ has been engineered and built to handle “Commercial” use, such as boat rentals and park concessions. The types of material used and the way the boat is put together make the Aqua Cycle™ tougher and more durable than most others. One year of commercial use is equivalent to several years of residential use.

How stable is the Aqua Cycle™?

The Aqua Cycle™ pontoons are spaced far enough apart to allow the seating to be centered between them, making the boat very stable. The Aqua Cycle™ is almost impossible to turn upside down.

Can the seat be adjusted for shorter people?

The seat comes adjusted to fit an average height person. However it can be adjusted back an additional (2″), or forward (7″) from the original setting.

Can the pontoons be punctured causing the boat to sink?

Aqua Cycle™ pontoons are made with the same material and thickness (.080”) as is used in most full size pontoon boats. As a result of the lower speeds inherent with a paddle boat, it is virtually impossible to puncture the pontoons under normal use.

Can options be added to the boat at a later date?

The Aqua Cycle™ is assembled in such a way that all options can be easily added at any time. All options can be shipped or mailed and assembled with included instructions.

Can the Aqua Cycle™ be used in salt water?

All Aqua Cycle™s are made of Aluminum, Stainless Steel and Urethane. The pedal crankshafts and axles are powder coated and plated. These materials are compatible with salt water. (Note: When boats are used in salt water it is usually a good idea to rinse them off with fresh water after use.)

What kind of maintenance in required on the Aqua Cycle™?

The Aqua Cycle™ has six bearings fitted with oil cups. These bearings require three or four drops of standard S.A.E. 30 weight motor oil at the beginning and middle of each season. The chain should be lubricated with a ( motor cycle chain spray lube) when the boat is put into storage at the end of the boating season. The urethane decking material can be cleaned with an all-purpose spray cleaner like “409” or a mild dish detergent.

Can a motor drive be added to the boat?

A motor drive is available and fits all of the Aqua Cycle™ Paddle Boats with 15″ diameter pontoons. The motor drive and charger are assembled at the factory for ease of installation. (Note: See our Electric Motor Drive information page).

How long will the seat & deck boards last?

The seats and floorboards are made of Aluminum reinforced urethane and are designed to last many years under normal use. Once they start to show wear they can be painted with ordinary house paint if desired, or new boards can be ordered from the factory.

What do I do to winterize my boat at the end of the season?

The Aqua Cycle™ should be taken out of the water and stored on land if winter freeze up is expected. Since most soils are somewhat acidic and can corrode aluminum, set the boat on boards or blocks to prevent any damage to the bottom of the pontoons.

What is the resale value of the Aqua Cycle™?

The resale value is high because the Aqua Cycle™ is not mass- produced and is designed to last many years. Many families pass them on to their children instead of selling them. As a result, the availability of used Aqua Cycle™s is low.
